From Suntan Thrills to Soul – Deep Joy – Finding God’s Real Pleasure.

Let’s talk about sin and pleasure – because sometimes, they feel a bit like catching a perfect suntan, don’t they? It’s thrilling in the moment, and we soak it up, not a care in the world. But fast-forward, and what seemed amazing can leave us burned. Suddenly, we’re dealing with regret, pain, and the consequences we didn’t expect.

We’ve all heard it, especially from young people: “Why does it feel like everything fun is a sin?” But here’s the catch, when we settle for sin, we’re aiming way too low!

Psalm 16:11 tells us, “In Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand are pleasures forever.”

God isn’t against fun, pleasure, or excitement. He created it! He’s inviting us into joy that’s richer, deeper, and more lasting than the thrill that fades.

Think of it this way – if sin is that “quick tan” thrill, then God’s joy is the whole adventure – joy that doesn’t leave you with a sting but instead leaves you full. God’s joy is like diving into an ocean of pleasure that satisfies from the inside out, where there’s no regret, only a fullness that strengthens and sustains you.

(Real joy isn’t just skin-deep, it’s life-deep.)

So, next time you feel the pull toward something that promises fun now, ask yourself: “Am I after the quick fix, or am I ready to dive into the fullness God offers?”

Why settle for the suntan when God has the sunshine of real, lasting joy waiting just for you?

God Bless You,

Albert
