Is Assisted Dying/Suicide Biblically and Morally Correct?
From a biblical standpoint, assisted dying and suicide are not morally or scripturally acceptable. Life is a sacred gift from God (Psalm 139:13–16), and its sanctity is affirmed throughout scripture. God, as Creator, is sovereign over life and death (Deuteronomy 32:39). Taking one’s own life – or assisting another in doing so – violates the commandment, “You shall not murder” (Exodus 20:13), as self-inflicted death is a form of self-murder.
